Hello all, you guys are great. The information here is loaded. Thanks to everyone. I was also researching on how FX-Jay trades but GU_Night
has said it all to the point i understand. These are some of the post that made me started looking at his methods.
http://www.ff.com/showthread.php?t=478812&page=46
If you read his post carefully you will pick his method…… He look for top & bottom, I believe both are PTZ. He looked at trades with high probabilities and prepare the trade ahead.
If you check the NZDCHF he went back to H1 to place his Long trade likewise the NZDUSD short trade. One thing about the method also apart from Entry is the Exit. He does not wait for price to go back to the Top PTZ for NZDUSD and bottom PTZ for NZDUSD.
As the market is dynamic, so also methods to trade are evolving. Merry Christmas in advance & Many pips you all.

I don’t think so. A large number of bars will be equipped with rather large POTENTIAL fractal and mid-bar zones. As time passes, those large zones are partially eaten up by price action. Many bars will keep some part of those initial zones to become confirmed. The ratio of final width of a confirmed zone to the initial width of a potential zone will basically define k. This is where ATR may join in as a weighing factor to achieve some ‘universal’ algorithm defining k. I ran stats about the first part, without incorporating ATR. It looks promising, but still has to be evaluated more properly. In general: the smaller the value of h, the more potential zones for entry you will find, but the smaller k will be in order to achieve statistically safe entries.
Sure, I’m aware of that post and the ambiguity of RSI, Stoch, etc. readings. Just read my reply to his post. That’s why I’m here in this forum, trying to find alternatives.
I would use currency strength as a basic filter: just to sort out which pairs to trade at the moment, and in which direction. No entry signals from this side, IMO. For the role of ATR, there’s my rough idea of defining k (see above), and there are ‘classic’ ways to set a SL or TP. I think testing a combination of both might be worth the effort. This article gives an idea of a classic approach, though there are many more of them: http://www.investopedia.com/articles/trading/06/stopplacement.asp

The Russians are ahead of you… :-} Use Bing or Google translator. http://tradelikeapro.ru/strategiya-transient-zones/ G.
Has anyone takin the time to look there? Maybe we got a russian guy here with us who could help us understand the discussions over there.
http://forum.tradelikeapro.ru/index.php?topic=7733.0
Bing and Google translator are trying to be good buddies for that..but a native speaker would help a lot..
If you look over there make sure to have 1 translated and 1 original open (because the pictures aren´t shown on the translated site…at least for me.
A guy even came up with this: https://www.mql5.com/en/market/product/6947#full_description
Maybe worth a look just for the way this one works with transient zones.

Interesting post!
Has anyone takin the time to look there?
I don’t speak Russian either …
A guy even came up with this:
Well, at first sight those results displayed look very promising. But looking at the details, there are also huge drawdowns involved. That guy has a Martingale algorithm implemented (read his product details), and I believe that some DD might be a result of Martingale gone in the undesirable direction – ‘rare-rare’ events
.Remember: he wants to sell his EA, and the results may be handpicked. Anyhow: downloading his demo and testing on a demo account might be worth the effort. Maybe I’ll give it a try in January 2015.

I thinking of attacking when a PTZ is formed only when an arrow came out to confirm the trade. But all this indicators I just changed the settings and the arrow(RecurrenceStatistic) repaints live.
I’d like to give it a try and have a look at that problem. Can you specify in detail, which ‘arrow came out’ and ‘repaints live’ (indicator names and links, settings, …) I’m afraid that I don’t have the version you’re referring to.
Regards, simplex

h left = negative value causes the arrow to repaint
Hey LearnAlways,
Thanks for going public after our PM conversation

Just to state my opinion also publicly:
IMO working with negative values of h_left in order to get some signals is non-causal. It’s like trying to reverse the flow of time. That’s why I believe there’s no causal (non-repainting) indicator that can fully accomplish your request.
Maybe anyone else around has a better idea or can tell me where I interpreted your intention wrong.
Carry on, simplex

Skype: learnalways@outlook.comDecember 24, 2014 at 3:44 am #2300Hi Everybody, I’m running out of ideas in making (TZ + RS + SS) all into 1 single system. That’s why I’m posting this pic and maybe we all can come up with something to make it tradable. ….
Hi my friend,
At you image i see blue & yellow arrow. Is it based on iFractal ? But you have many arrow in the same direction …
If it is based on kprsa’s white arrow in his indicator, the arrow must be at the left side before it reach the peak of swing. Hm…

… Pls correct me if I’m wrong in my thoughts. Do any of u guys/gals think this idea might work or should I just scrap it ???
Wow wow wow, this is amazing my friend. Have you calculated the win probability ? Or created an EA and see the result ?
Just looking at your image, i am sure you will get profit, a big profit. With proper money management at big enough TF, just do Buy order at every blue arrow you get, and exit at the first yellow arrow. Vice versa for sell, just put Sell order at every yellow arrow you get, and exit at the first blue arrow (don’t care about loss, if any. Just close all).
This is a good idea my friend, will try later if i have time. Thanks for the great idea

Yea, this is just a spambot that got through the registration. The site isn’t hacked. My registration captcha isn’t strong, its just a math problem. So its possible that from time to time that a spam bot will find its way in. At that point I just delete the account along with content.
However, keep in mind that this is a public forum. Any user can signup, that means, banksters or brokers or anyone. There is no way for me to screen users and to validate everybody’s IDs (i doubt anyone would wanna do that anyways, it would be such a hassle). So what you share on this forum will be available to anyone. Unless its shared in a private group. More on this later..possible to change settings for some thread to “private”?
Yes, I made this site with having the intention of letting users create private communities to work together. This is what the groups are. Anyone can create a private or semi-private or hidden or public group. With private groups, the group admins can control who can see the content. You can screen the users yourself and only allow the ones that you trust. Still there is no guarantee that a broker/bankster would pretend to be a normal user and earn our trust and then we could end up giving them access. So if you have something needing top secret status, then I suggest that you get to know the people that you are working with. Maybe over Skype or facebook, I don’t know. Up to you

Other than that, I think this site is safe, as safe as any other site like ff.com can be.

Hi LearnAlways,
I saw your post yesterday and didn’t get a chance to reply. You said you set the H_Left to be a negative value, correct? There is a slight problem with that. By doing so what you have done is you turned off the H_Left check. What you have ended up with is a TZ indicator that just check for the H_Right. What this means is that it will repaint. So the history will look perfect. Do you see how the arrow shows up where the H_Right only is transient? BUT, is this bad? Not necessarily, check to see how many were repainted to have an idea of false signals that this produces
