Parts of this technique/method are used in the ForexGT_Arrow fractal “prediction”, if you remember the discussions about EURUSD/GBPUSD=GBPUSD and the implications and variations on it…

This approach worked well until about 4 years ago.
Since the brokers found out about it they are applying various techniques to prevent profitting from this approach, such as quotes delay and spread/slippage increase.
Currently this method only works well if you employ it between two brokers: one fast and one slower – using fast internet…[Read more]

Ticks on backtest are virtual, not real.
That’s why testing this method on backtest is worthless, except for debugging.

Things that a broker can do:
slight control of quote price
Change slipage
Change spread
Delay quotes
Requote

This theory already checked years ago, and it’s Ok.
The only thing to avoid is not to trade near current market extremes (i.e, SNB & the EURCHF at 1.20 level). Only trade within market “zone”.
Another thing is to whithdraw profits at 20-50% levels, while the remaining account should continue with latest lot sizes.

Fractal Arrow Prediction 10 years, 11 months agoSimple Average formula is: Sum(1…n)/n
Example:
(1+2+3+4+5)/5 = 3
Now we want to know what future number will cause this “uptrend” to go flat or move down.
This mean that:
(1+2+3+4+5+x)/6 <= 3
This one is easy to solve…

This should be done in real-time, by the algo, otherwise it will be too late and on the bar CLOSE, while doing it in real-time it can be done immediatly.

I didn’t say anything about changing the database, nor about “reversing” your algo.
Just add another parameter to your algo that influence your prediction based on direction change.

Fractal Arrow Prediction 10 years, 11 months agoLeave the DB alone…. {-;
What if you add to your algo a Direction-Change “prediction”, based on the A/M example?
You already know at what price the direction is going to change – add this to the probabilities.
