Sorry, you can not customize it. Indicators are hard coded within MiniCharts.
MiniCharts Gold is a common indicator with their strengths and weaknesses, not a platform.
Somehow I am glad that this indicator generates this kind of confusion.

Just wanted to say thanks to Sergio for making such great indicators. I ve been playing with 5thdimension indie and i find it fantastic.

As you can see, the 5thdimension often shows demand&suply zones more precise, than the regular candles. It would be realy interesting to combine it with S&D indicator, but i realise that is not possible, so i just mark the zones by hand.

When I get to have some time I’ll do a generator of offline chart which I think will be the final solution to see if this idea of 5thDimension is good for something or should go to the recycle bin.

It s a great idea, please don t discart it. If i understand it correctly, the range of candles is defined by volume instead of price movement, which is exactly what i was often looking for.

It comes in handy specialy to the people who don t use indicators to enter a trade (suply/demand, divergence,..).

Sergio (or anyone who knows),  can you explain, how do i activate that TF-switching buttton in “candles by SB” indicator.

The button shows at the bottom of the screen with only H1 option, but nothing happens if i click on it.

Hi Mak,

Nothing special to activate TF-switching button.
Please note the following:
1) Make sure your platform is at least build 765.
2) Buttons not work in strategy tester, hence, indicators or EA with buttons not work in strategy tester.

I have 765 build and i have the indie on a normal 5 min chart. The button just doesn t work for me as it suposse to. At least i know

Brother Mak,I just downloaded the indi from my site to test and it works fine on my computer.
Try downloading it again.
This worries me.
Team, somebody else with this type of problem?

I have re-downloaded the indi. I have tryed it in 2 different mt4 installment (both b765) with  different brokers and acc (live+demo).

Unfortunatelly, the button doesn t work for me on eather.

The other indi with similar button (mini charts) works perfectly.

If you refer to something as shown in the attached picture, yes it is possible but extremely difficult to carry out, ie a real headache.
If not, please be more explicit.

Hi Mak, excuse the insistence, maybe you are not interested and I’m bothering but please test the attached Candles bySB.
Locate and set the ButtonsModeDrag parameter to true.
When set to true the buttons don’t work like buttons, hence drag “buttons” to switch.
Note that if the platform event handler is not working at all, You shall wait a tick for the shifted button takes effect.
It is the only solution I could think of, for sure not is the best but maybe you can use it now. The trouble is not in the indicator, is between the platform and your operating system and, only in the main window and not in sub-windows as you tell me the MiniCharts works well.
Please, tell me if it works and what is your version of windows (7 or 8?) and if 32 or 64 bits.

I correct myself, point 2) is wrong.
According to my experience and in my system (tested a couple of hours ago):
a) The buttons of indicators in the strategy tester work well, that’s good.
b) The buttons of EA in the strategy tester not work hence EA with buttons don’t work in the strategy tester, that’s bad.

Hi sergio!

 

This modification did the trick! Now i can change the tf of the cc on the fly. I use win 7 64 bit. Do you think that s the reason for the problem?

I am happy to know that at least you can now use it.
On the fundamental problem I’m groping in the dark since I don’t used Windows for years.

Anyone running MT on Windows 7 64 bit?

You can try this:

Right click on the Metatrader 4 shortcut, then click PROPERTIES > COMPATIBILITY > then check the boxe for RUN THIS PROGRAM IN COMPATABILITY MODE FOR and choose WINDOWS XP SP2

Then check the box for privilege level “run as administrator”.
Then click CHANGE SETTINGS FOR ALL USERS and apply the same settings, then click APPLY and then OK.

That should help you with MT4 and also any other 32 bit programs you are having issues with. Obviously you have to repeat the above steps for the other programs.
I would prove Windows XP SP3 compatibility (It is the one I am using now under “wine” in linux). If you decide to test please do it on a demo account.
Not sure if this will solve the issue, I only know that I know nothing,  only you have the answer.

I tryed what you suggested, but unfortunately it didn t helped solving the issue.

The main thing is, that i can use your great CC indi with your latest modification. I like the fact, that i can now see the non-native mt4 time frames without using period converter.

I noticed one more thing. The indi works now. I can change tf and set it off/on. But it doesn t updated custom candles in real time. I have to press/move

the button for indi to update the candles.

No biggie, just thought you should know. Still using it.

Yes, that’s how it works when ButtonsModeDrag parameter is set to true, my poor English may have caused you don’t understand me.
For me drag is equivalent to the sequence: pressing, keep pressed and move.
That’s what I tried to explain in the post # 5300 when I wrote referring to the parameter ButtonsModeDrag:
“When set to true the buttons don’t work like buttons, hence drag “buttons” to switch”.
I should have been more explicit and say:
When set to true the buttons don’t work like normal buttons but as common objects, hence, drag (press/move) the “buttons” to simulate the click on normal buttons.
The key word in this sentence is “simulate”.
And the parameter should be called: ButtonsDragMode
The drag mode to simulate a click on button (it was used in older versions of mt4 when buttons had not been invented yet) is not perfect, has its drawbacks but will have to live with them.

First i select “buttons_mode_drag” to on, than i choose the tf i want, than i switch this mode off and also select “start_on” mode.

Now the indi work in real time

Man!, your system defies the logic!
I understand now, in your system, when ButtonsModeDrag is set to true custom candles are freezed until you drag any button and then are freezed again, in my system, custom candles are always updated in real time how it should be.
Anyway I modified again the indi to see if it adapts to its quirky system.
Please install the attached indi, set ButtonsDragMode to true and don’t touch it more, leave the parameter Start_ON set to false, launch the indi, you should see a button”C.H1″, drag the button , custom candles should be showed and should be updated in real time now. If custom candles remains freezed change your PC, operating system and broker and try again lol.

Sergio, now it works like it should, thank you very much. I was happy with previous version, but it may be usefull to someone else.

I m not sure, what is wrong with my system, i don t have any problems with it, but hey…it s M$soft.

Ok, with another minor bug found and fixed, Candles bySB uploaded to my site as Candles bySB 15AC
Murphy’s Law: every last bug you found is actually the penultimate.
Mak, thanks for your patience and cooperation, it is clear that his problem is that the OnChartEvent function is not working on your system when the indicator is located in the main window and I have no idea why this happens, it makes no sense and my search in the network of a similar case has not given any results.
