Site looks great, thank you.

With my browser set at 100% the text is a little hard for me to read and some things are a little too light. I have old eyes lol.

A skin option for a darker background maybe? Small things really I can make do with zooming in. What it looks like on my monitor.

@Jhlewis10, it’s very important to me that I make the site easier for everybody to see. I don’t want the site to be too dark but I do agree, a bit of shading could improve the readability!

Also I think the font that I was using might not been helping. I used a more forum friendly font as well now. Here are two versions.

Please let me know which one you preferr. One of them is a bit darker and also the font size is just a bit bigger.

How do you guys like it now?
Make sure you refresh the page so your browser gets the latest CSS files. I made things a bit darker and changed the font just for the forum and increased the font size a bit.

Hi Chief,

Is it possible to show our username some where at the top after we login using smart phone or tablet? I never use wordpress, so do not know about this.  if it costs much time, then i think no need to do it :)

Could you please show me what you mean by showing your username at the top of the page?
I’m not sure what you would like accomplished from this. Are you wanting quick access to the site’s content or are you not liking the way the navigation shows up on tablets and phones?

I’d like to go on record as recommending advertising be allowed on the forum.

But just advertising by the Forum.

Even just Goodle Ads stuff.

It takes so much effort to run a forum like this that I’m happy to look into site ads knowing I’m contributing to Admin and expressing some gratitude.

Thanks for the suggestion. I might have to later if the traffic increases a lot and financing this becomes an issue. But I plan to keep it ad free for long as I can. Anything I can do to give back

I checked to see if there are any plugins that I could use to let users enter their own time zone. Unfortunately there isn’t any. And to make a custom plugin seems to be a bit of work since the time is in a few places. But I will add this to the list of to-do items so I can come back to it. Great suggestion by the way! 

For now I have set the default time to UTC so everyone can +/- easier based on their timezone in the head

I’ve kept quiet about it until now, and maybe I’m the minority, but I just do not like this forum software at all.

 

I don’t really know where to begin with constructive criticism.  All I can say is that I just find the whole package unappealing from a presentation and usability stand point.

 

One thing that stands out is there is just so much “white space”.  And what is the purpose of the groups vs the forums?  The discussion format of the groups is maddening.  Recently in the past I was hitting “Load More” and it never seemed to load more, just kept repeating the same results over and over, then would load some more, then repeat.  So frustrating.

 

If there is a way to customize my view of forum please please let me know.

I really appreciate your feedback. I haven’t been too happy with it myself either. There is still more work to be done. In the meantime, lets see if we can make it a bit less painful for you

Please make sure that you are actually looking at the Group’s Forum and not the Group’s home page activity stream. Click on the blue link “Forum” within the group to see the group’s discussion topics. It’s a bit confusing, hence why I made that link be in Blue
Hopefully this will take care of that problem.

We have groups separated from the forums because groups are meant to be self contained areas within the site. Also they have various privacy options such are private, hidden, public etc. It’s like having a forum within a mini site.

If you could send me a sketch of the view you would like it to be, I can see if I can get that implemented for you.
