From time to time spambots seem to make it through Saver0’s firewall. Since new groups can’t be reported directly, I had the idea to start this topic for potential spam and scam alerts that can’t be reported directly.

Yea, it’s just a spammer bot guys. Nothing to worry about. It’s difficult to stop them since the registration is open to anyone. They are bots that people made to spam sites so that their sites would have backlinks and traffic. I deleted the content and the users

I put in place a different captcha yesterday and it worked out horribly. I finally cleaned out the spam and put in place a different one. Hopefully this will take care of the spam issue.

90 groups and counting today… Yesterday was 270 something.
One of my most drastic methods was to ban IP ranges, only thing that worked. Do we have users from the same region as the spammer? If not, I advise you to think about it, bans can always be lifted later.
