Thank you very much, Richard!
May 23, 2016 at 11:19 am #12593In several posts I’ve read about vanished indicators caused by crashed hard disks or other events. Make sure to protect your work against loss, it’s just a few minutes per day.
The following backup software is free for private use and can easily be configured for your personal needs – I use it on a daily basis:

Highly recommended! All you need to provide is some external storage device like a USB hard disk and then configure the folders to be copied.

A good trader is a realist who wants to grab a chunk from the body of a trend, leaving top- and bottom-fishing to people on an ego trip. (Dr. Alexander Elder)
November 21, 2016 at 10:57 am #13390If somebody is interested in the termĀ LATIS (Learning Adaptive Technical Indicator System), you might want to have a closer look at the paper ‘Computational Intelligence for Analysis Concerning Financial Modelling and the Adaptive Market Hypothesis.‘ by Matthew Butler.
Please note that this is a Ph.D. thesis, so please do not expect to find some ready-to-use MT4 indicators, but a considerable dose of math instead.
I did not check the contents in depth, just posting here for those who are able and willing to dig really deeper. On the other hand, I do not expect this paper to present some fast track to trading success.

This course introduces students to the real world challenges of implementing machine learning based trading strategies including the algorithmic steps from information gathering to market orders. The focus is on how to apply probabilistic machine learning approaches to trading decisions. We consider statistical approaches like linear regression, KNN and regression trees and how to apply them to actual stock trading situations.

January 20, 2017 at 11:57 am #13506Looking for Savitzky-Golay Filter Coefficients, I stumbled upon this really useful website for those who like to dig a little deeper than the average FX enthusiast when it comes to Math.
From their ‘About‘ page:
The Virtual Institute of Applied Science (VIAS) has been founded by Hans Lohninger to supply high-quality learning materials at virtually no costs. Thus, the VIAS Web site is dedicated to the enhancement of learning and the understanding of science concepts.
Enjoy!

Haven’t read it in detail yet, but looks promising (especially for our R specialists).
