Here is the system JHLewis and I are currently using successfully. It uses a renko chart set to H1 NOT M1. This clears out a lot of the noise. 50 ema channel for trend direction(blue and white) Stoch 80/20 for OB/OS MACD is a secondary filter I recently added to help with fakeouts as seen in the pic. Its color and if its above or below 0 are the indicators. The other channel is just a ATR channel I use to identify extremes. Hasn’t played a huge part in the strat yet except to help not take trades if price is between the 2 bands. Trade 1: sto -80. Price under ema. MACD red and under 0 Trade 2: This trade hits the checklist but you would have sweated it for a few minutes until it won. Notice I did wait for a color change on the macd which seems to help weed out bad trades. Trade 3: waited for macd color change Trade 4 & 5 are textbook. I’ll post the indis in another post. I need to clean up the template first.

To cover the commissions you need – wait for it – 1 pip!
So you could aim for 3 pips, lose 1 to comms and gain 2.
Am still playing around with the accounts – just hate seeing the negatives in the account balance…

Although it has been mentioned here before, I thought I’d re-enforce here that commission based model does not really work for this system.
I tried both FXCM Spread Bet account (commission in spread) and FXCM low spread + commission for comparison and was shocked!!!
The commission from both legs wiped out the profit from the 1 pip gain! And it was emotionally difficult to see the commission hits in the account!
And they take 50% as margin per trade leaving the margin % low!!!
So although my spreads are ave 2.5 EU and GU, the gains do not get wiped out – I will stick with Spread Bet account in UK and make it work for this system.
Cheers
