Volume (or Ticks in FX) is leading. I did the cross correlations studies ages ago, but please do it yourself to be convinced.
Volume by itself can’t be profitable, because it doesn’t tell you by how much the price will rise/fall and for how long.
You’ll always need some combined Volume/Price added indicator with pure Volume indie.

Although you got some bugs, you can surely see the very high winning rate of the single Volume strategy.
You can even increase that high winning rate by putting the dot at the exact price, inside the bar, even before the bar closes, when Volume>= its avg.
Good job !!

EURUSD is in DownTrend, so we look for shorts only on Peak areas.
To PinPoint the most probable bar we use the ForexGT_VolumeOsc.
See attached on both M1 & H4 (just to show it’s working on both short & long TF’s).

Haven’t seen your code logic, but it seems that you are chasing the Volume increase.
The ForexGT_VolumeOsc high-volume areas proves exactly the opposite.

You can see rough description of the ForexGT_VolumeOsc in my last post @”Trading made REALLY Simple” thread.

Peaks & Troughs indicator is purely price range based.
The ForexGT_VolumeOsc is just to pinpoint (when extended beyond the 80% range) the exact bar in that area for entry.
Its Volume is plus or minus according to price median movement (up or down from previous).
It is based on the relation of that Volume meaningfull average against actual…[Read more]

As already explained: a “Tick”, in the FX “Volume” parameter, is one price change.
If the “Tick” caused price to go up, what is the volume direction of that tick?
G.
gg53 replied to the topic Filtering by Volume in the forum Trading Systems Discussion 10 years, 5 months ago
1. For prediction of next move you’ll need the Volume DIRECTION.
2. Only last 1-2 tick-rate time-window/interval and their direction will determine next bar initial move.

Not all brokers have “dealling desk”. Some are ECN/STP. Even those with “Dealling Desk” are backing themselves in the market.
In any case, retail market is ~6-7% of the total FX market.
The Volume or “Ticks” data is coming from the Interbank and shown by the broker in your Mt4 terminal after adding its spread.

To prove to yourself the above just watch major announcements, minutes or seconds before the events.
You’ll see price “spikes” without much movement in volume. Those are the “fools money” trying to guess the direction and get quick pips.
If it was some major financial institution behind it – you will see the volume move in that direction.
