Hi @blueface!
Thank you for your request!
I want to aks if you can add a pop alert, when TF1 and TF 5 , and TF 15 channel first touch together
At the moment, I am fully occupied by making my integrated CIX indicator work properly. See here.
I decided to postpone working on this one for reasons I described in my latest post: http://penguintraders.com/forums/topic/true-barscandles-and-market-sentiment/page/2/#post-8938 Maybe somebody else could join in by coding.
I like the ideas G. is posting in this thread very much, and my fingers are itching in order to type some code to bring this to life. But sorry for now: I have to focus my efforts. I will watch with interest and contribute when my schedule allows.
Maybe somebody else could join and post a modificaton?
Best, s.

You can use Gadi_OBV from “Killing Zone” @FF.

November 17, 2015 at 10:17 am #9207We need to “see” the Volume/Range relationship in order to predict future move of the range. G.
Just thinking aloud here – re; volume/range relationship, after a large move say on news a bit like the 60% retracement we have been talking about on the VIDEO thread, the water will settle down and so using the volume/range relationship equation it should give us predictive qualitites as to where the price will go Pip
News/Announcement trading (the 60% “Law”) is a special and separate issue, but it uses the same underlying physics.
You can consider the News/Announcements as a sudden water flood (caused by excess water, i.e. increased Volume) followed by fast retracement as water rapidly resides (Volume returns to normal flow).

Thanks a lot G. From your posts, the pieces of the puzzle can be collected. Soon we will see the light …

If you have time, please create a thread about news trading in the future. What tactic can be use to trade during high impact news …

If you have time, please create a thread about news trading in the future. What tactic can be use to trade during high impact news …News/Announcements trading (the 60% Law) is currently in the GREAT pipatronic “VIDEO” thread.
It started as pip remark there, but certainly deserve a thread of its own. There you have both live predictions and their results.

November 17, 2015 at 6:56 pm #9220As I’m not sure about that channel’s view concept here comes my interpretation.
Consider the image below with M1, M5, M15, M30 and M60 channels.
As you can see, at the moment we’re in a strong down trend as the M1 channel (high – low of last bar) is on the bottom of all higher time frames considered. This may have happened due to an increased interest in USD.
What else can I conclude from it? What should I expect to see when current forces decrease? An arrangement of all time frame channels to the horizontal center of the highest time frame box? Can I assume a move towards this direction when all the lower time frame channels move towards this center? When exactly?
Thanks in advance!

You are engulfing the same bar. M30 should extend out to the righ, etc.
But you can still conclude: Sentiment is clearly down, but if retracement occur (up Volume increase) – it will retrace to the M5, and then to the M15/M30.
To overcome the M15/M30 to the upside it will require massive volume since its double height at the same level.

What is presented in pipatronic VIDEO thread is the 60% “Law” after the news. It’s more relaxed trading and fits almost any trader style and experience level.
And yes, it’s a retracement trade.

Is anyone able to make an indi to extend the time frames to the right or does one already exist ??, beyond my capabilities
Would be a neat and compact way to go instead of having multiple time frames (charts) up plus quick and easy to read.

Would be a neat and compact way to go instead of having multiple time frames (charts) up plus quick and easy to read. PipTo extend indicator you need to set the SHIFT parameter with minus sign (i.e. -1, -2, etc.).
Look at the std. indicators source, such as Alligator or Ichimoku.
Anothe method is to create the channels, one within the other, but each channel should be drawn only when it is closed.

November 18, 2015 at 8:00 am #9230To the RIGHT of H1 bar, opened @08:00 (current time is 08:55): Bar +1: 1 M30 bar, closed @08:30, 1 M15 bar closed @08:15, 1 M15 bar closed @08:30, 6 M5 bars closed @08:30 (6 intervals of 5 minutes) (stacked on the same bar – each in different color) …..
Hi G,
One question about this. So it will be 9 rectangles (1 + 2 + 6) inside next H1 bar, with the max/min value ?
If we just take max/min of each TF, it will be only 3 rectangles, but they are overlapping each other …
Any hint ?
Thanks in advance.November 18, 2015 at 9:41 am #9231As I’m not sure about that channel’s view concept here comes my interpretation. Consider the image below with M1, M5, M15, M30 and M60 channels. I don’t understand your question.
You should see (in the H1 example) M1, M5, M15, M30 & H1 channels.
A channel is based on each High/Low of the relevant TF.
Rough sketch attached. It shouldn’t be rectangles, but for illustration only.

November 18, 2015 at 11:23 am #9238To make this example a practical one:
You saw from above posts that the M15/M30 channels define a strong level, you can go from H1 chart to the M15 and wait for an entry signal if Volume exceed avg.
This is a pre-signal of “river flood”…
Here is the outcome, with minimal DD and fast reward.

Interesting how the volume bar before (7;00 M15) was high and looks as though there was some selling there before it headed north

November 18, 2015 at 1:23 pm #9242Why would you have choosen the entry where you did? The volume exceeds average also some candles before (although the overall tick volume is much lower).
Because of the channel level, when channel broke with Volume.
BTW: the entry is when Volume broke the avg., and not on bar close.
