Thank you for all the work you have done here.
July 25, 2015 at 5:09 pm #7471I am getting a blank screen when tpl is applied to 15m EU.
Blank sub window if I apply the indy without using the tpl.

You need to have data for all 27 currency pairs. Make sure you right click on the Market Watch window click on Show all. Also if your broker has pre/post fixes for the currency pair, it may not work.. I will need to add them in.

Do you see the “Saver0-Money-Flow-v1.1” in the indicators list? If you don’t see it in the list, you may have to restart the terminal. Make sure the indicator file is in the correct folder. What happens when you attach it to the chart?

July 26, 2015 at 9:30 am #7478Hi saver0,
I also added the tpl to the charts and got a blank, adding the indi separately is okay. So exactly as JHL above.
My live account has a suffix ‘.’ so nothing works on that account.
I used a script to download all the history data for 27 pairs, not sure what else could allow the tpl. you provided to work on my demo.
With the template screen shot you provided I am pretty sure I could copy it, however could you confirm that you placed 4 instances of the indicator on 1 chart and changed the ccy pairs to display the flow.
Thanks

Please check this post and download the indicator and the template again:

I saved the template again and updated the indicator to include the currency postfix and suffix.To see the flow of money from and to EUR for example, you set the firstCurrency1 to EUR and second Currency to USD. This will show you how money is flowing into EUR from USD.
Same for EUR from GBP, you set firstCurrency2 to EUR and secondCurrency2 to GBP. Do the same by setting EURAUD and EURJPY. You can do the same to see money flow into and from USD, GBP, etc..
I only look at the major 5 EUR, GBP, USD, JPY, AUD and I find this enough. When money is flowing into USD from all 4, to me thats a long for USD as long as its a higher low.
I set the normalized to true, this will remove volatility to show you the trends better even during low activity hours. But this depends on the volume and I find that lower time frame volume is less dependable. I found that for M15, the best period is 11. Feel free to experiment. This means for M5, the best period is 5*11=55, etc. You will get more details in M1 and M5 and might be better even.Attached is a chart explaining how to trade this.

Thanks for sharing your results GG!
Did you take the trade on every bar or was it based on an indicator of yours? Have you looked into placing the trade during pullbacks?

Entry is based on Currency-Strength and TickVolume (my version on both) – trading both in trend and pullbacks.
It doesn’t trade in extreme market conditions and low and declining volatility.
BTW: My old & trusted “Money-Flow” indie looks and behave quite different from yours. I don’t know the reason for that.

Did you set the currencySuffix and currencyPostfix to match your borker’s naming convention for currency pairs?
For example, if your broker’s eurusd is named .EURUSD then the currencySuffix would be . and you leave the postfix blank.Focus, Patience, Determination & Order in chaos

Thanks for the update. How did you handle the 3% of the trades that failed? Did you use a SL?
Also your “money flow” indicator looks different because the concept behind it is different. The way I define money flow needs to be in its own thread so I won’t clutter this thread with that
And I noticed that looking at an averaged/sum from all pairs of EUR for example doesn’t give me the clear picture of how money is flowing in and out of EUR. I wanted to see it in relation to its counterpart as EURUSD, EURGBP, etc.Focus, Patience, Determination & Order in chaos

As to my Money-Flow indicator, I don’t recall ever showing or sharing it here so I don’t understand your conclusion on its inner work…

July 27, 2015 at 3:10 am #7496Thanks Saver, 1.62% on during this move up on EU.
July 27, 2015 at 7:16 am #7497thanks saver0,
The demo had no Prefix or Suffix and loaded straight away, so I know that works for all

However, my live account with a Suffix of ‘.’ tries to load and I get 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 in the indi window panel, so its trying its hardest to work but still doesn’t.
If i am missing something obvious i apologize.
I should state that I have tried placing the ‘.’ in both suffix and postfix dialogue box

Hi Savero, thx for sharing above info, I still have problem to setup chart to see money comes into USD (for EUR the default settings are ok and working fine i can see all lines).
I don’t know if it’s correct I’ve setup indicator as follow :
firstCurr1 = USD
secondCurr1 = EUR
flip = true
firstCurr2 = USD
secondCurr2 = GBP
flip = true
firstCurr3 = USD
secondCurr3 = AUD
flip = true
firstCurr4 = USD
secondCurr4 = JPY
flip = false
With above settings i don’t see any lines and indicator returns a 2015.07.27 09:17:52.983 zero divide in ‘Saver0 – Money Flow v1.1.mq4’ (242,154), that’s strange since I did scroll left all charts related to usd but still no lines are shown.
Could you eventually share settings for USD ?Thx,
Regards,
Skyline
July 27, 2015 at 8:19 am #7504I got errors too
:2015.07.27 11:17:41.333 zero divide in ‘Saver0 – Money Flow v1.1.mq4’ (273,209)
2015.07.27 11:17:38.914 zero divide in ‘Saver0 – Money Flow v1.1.mq4’ (255,199)
July 28, 2015 at 1:26 am #7505I don’t know if it’s correct I’ve setup indicator as follow : firstCurr1 = USD secondCurr1 = EUR flip = true
It has to be the following way
firstCurrency1 = EUR
secondCurrency2 = USDThen set the flip to true if you need the lines on the chart flipped. First and Second currency has to match the currency pair name of your broker’s.
I should state that I have tried placing the ‘.’ in both suffix and postfix dialogue box
I assume you tried placing ‘.’ just for suffix and another just for postfix right? Not both at the same time?
Send a screenshot of the MarketWatch window and lets see if we can figure it out

July 28, 2015 at 6:51 am #7506Hi Saver0,
I am attaching the Market Watch screen.
My demo works and I even added a 5th indi to display GBP flow.
The live account is still a mystery and yes, I have tried them Post and Suffix separately, together and with ‘,’ & ‘.’

Thanks for your help, maybe anyone else with a Suffix or Prefix could say how they turned this around .

add Comment with MarketInfo on that currency pair and watch its result on screen.
