Basically it is the same food in different pot.
The idea is to easily set the start of the graph, while the beginning is kept fixed at a certain time any line drawn on the chart will keep its position related to the candles. I find this hard to explain but if you run into the problem of displaced lines you will understand that I am saying.

In addition to be a chart and not a graphic into a sub window, allows you to place on it almost any indicator that runs in charts offline.

New offline chart generator for 5thDimension.

The idea behind the 5thdimension indicator is to analyze the action of the volume to complement the analysis of price action especially in smaller time frames (M1 is remarkable).
It’s too late but the indicator 5thdimension should be called: VolumeAction.
5thDimension_OLG is Offline chart generator according to the idea of 5thDimension_sw indicator.

I understand that you are referring to MiniCharts.

Try setting the value of GraphSymbol parameter to anchored according to the attached image, may be that is what you are looking for.

Ok, with another minor bug found and fixed, Candles bySB uploaded to my site as Candles bySB 15AC
Murphy’s Law: every last bug you found is actually the penultimate.
Mak, thanks for your patience and cooperation, it is clear that his problem is that the OnChartEvent function is not working on your system when the indicator is located in the main window and I have no idea why this happens, it makes no sense and my search in the network of a similar case has not given any results.

Man!, your system defies the logic!
I understand now, in your system, when ButtonsModeDrag is set to true custom candles are freezed until you drag any button and then are freezed again, in my system, custom candles are always updated in real time how it should be.
Anyway I modified again the indi to see if it adapts to its quirky system.
Please install the attached indi, set ButtonsDragMode to true and don’t touch it more, leave the parameter Start_ON set to false, launch the indi, you should see a button”C.H1″, drag the button , custom candles should be showed and should be updated in real time now. If custom candles remains freezed change your PC, operating system and broker and try again lol.

Yes, that’s how it works when ButtonsModeDrag parameter is set to true, my poor English may have caused you don’t understand me.
For me drag is equivalent to the sequence: pressing, keep pressed and move.
That’s what I tried to explain in the post # 5300 when I wrote referring to the parameter ButtonsModeDrag:
“When set to true the buttons don’t work like buttons, hence drag “buttons” to switch”.
I should have been more explicit and say:
When set to true the buttons don’t work like normal buttons but as common objects, hence, drag (press/move) the “buttons” to simulate the click on normal buttons.
The key word in this sentence is “simulate”.
And the parameter should be called: ButtonsDragMode
The drag mode to simulate a click on button (it was used in older versions of mt4 when buttons had not been invented yet) is not perfect, has its drawbacks but will have to live with them.

On the fundamental problem I’m groping in the dark since I don’t used Windows for years.

You can try this:

Right click on the Metatrader 4 shortcut, then click PROPERTIES > COMPATIBILITY > then check the boxe for RUN THIS PROGRAM IN COMPATABILITY MODE FOR and choose WINDOWS XP SP2

Then check the box for privilege level “run as administrator”.
Then click CHANGE SETTINGS FOR ALL USERS and apply the same settings, then click APPLY and then OK.

That should help you with MT4 and also any other 32 bit programs you are having issues with. Obviously you have to repeat the above steps for the other programs.
I would prove Windows XP SP3 compatibility (It is the one I am using now under “wine” in linux). If you decide to test please do it on a demo account.
Not sure if this will solve the issue, I only know that I know nothing,  only you have the answer.

I correct myself, point 2) is wrong.
According to my experience and in my system (tested a couple of hours ago):
a) The buttons of indicators in the strategy tester work well, that’s good.
b) The buttons of EA in the strategy tester not work hence EA with buttons don’t work in the strategy tester, that’s bad.

Hi Mak, excuse the insistence, maybe you are not interested and I’m bothering but please test the attached Candles bySB.
Locate and set the ButtonsModeDrag parameter to true.
When set to true the buttons don’t work like buttons, hence drag “buttons” to switch.
Note that if the platform event handler is not working at all, You shall wait a tick for the shifted button takes effect.
It is the only solution I could think of, for sure not is the best but maybe you can use it now. The trouble is not in the indicator, is between the platform and your operating system and, only in the main window and not in sub-windows as you tell me the MiniCharts works well.
Please, tell me if it works and what is your version of windows (7 or 8?) and if 32 or 64 bits.

Nothing special to activate TF-switching button.
Please note the following:
1) Make sure your platform is at least build 765.
2) Buttons not work in strategy tester, hence, indicators or EA with buttons not work in strategy tester.

Sorry, you can not customize it. Indicators are hard coded within MiniCharts.
MiniCharts Gold is a common indicator with their strengths and weaknesses, not a platform.
Somehow I am glad that this indicator generates this kind of confusion.

Well, 5thDimension seems work now, totally new code whereby it is now 5thDimension_2.

Known issue:
This problem can occur only when you restart the platform.
When the leftmost candle on the story changes (due to update motivated for having reached the parameter Max Bars In History), the image on the indicator will move up or low in the scale, this implies that objects such as lines drawn on the indicator window seem to lose their anchor point (Not really happens, in indicators, the objects are anchored to the scale and not to the candles image).
To make both, image and scale, stable (at least for a while) you can draw a vertical line in the chart with name start5th where you wish 5thDimension_2 start the graph. You may change vertical line name by setting parameter StartVLineName. On each start the indicator will verify the position and inform you via an alert if the line has been left out of history.

– Bollinger Bands with Period = 50, Deviations = 2, Apply To Previous Indicator’s Data

I now understand, brother not is possible overlaying each other, MiniCharts is only an indicator not a platform.

I’m glad you liked the 5thdimension and both the 1,2,3,4 numbers like the boxes were manually applied.

Now I’m working on a more adequate version, unfortunately we lose the MTF, too bad you can not have everything.
