Hi,
I gonna do some cleaning in the NewsInc_V2.0.mqh.
The other indi was just a quick and dirty to show how to use the NewsInc_V2.0.mqh.
I had not the intention to use it at all.
But if wished I can clean it up to and adapt the code according remarks.

This indicator only draws a rectangle with the colors, green, red, orange or yellow.

I use this procedure in a db I use, see attachment.
The call is very simple:

Maybe you can do us a favor.
Is it possible to publish a chart in which besides the swing point we can see some marked bars where you algo jumps from step 1 to step 2 and from step 2 to step 3.

Hi,
One remark. GG defined a valid fractal is an uninterrupted pattern of 5 bars. In most fractal indi’s we also have patterns existing of 6-9 bars. Does this mean we have to exclude the other patterns ?

Hi,
I think it is not that important how you build your sets. Yes when you know all then it is good to optimize for speed. But the point is what are the good fractals. Using fractals based on closed values gives already better results. Also leaving out the weekend fractals will help. But GG posted a chart in which he market the wrong fractals and…[Read more]

Adapted fractal indicator based on bar close values.
The arrows are a little small. I put them 1 pip above or below the bars in the chart.
Just give it a try.
This indi does not show only the “good” fractals of GG’s last chart.
But maybe it gives us a better idea in what direction we have to search/look.
So some research has to be done.

I think we have to re consider our set 1, 2 and 3. When i read the last remarks here and also in stevehopwood thread I come to the conclusion our set 1, 2 and 3 must be different build. in your definition of UP and DOWN fractal you explicite mention the 5 bar fractals only. In the fractal indi and also in Bill Williams video also 6-9 bar fractals are used. Does this mean we have to use for this only the 5 bar fractal definitionBR
