Even if someone could refer me to a specific post or a rough indication of whereabouts in the thread it talks about other ways of taking profit other than martingaling when you lose a trade..?
I have listened to everything you have said thus far Billyon and FX hard- I am strictly trading naked, no indicators of any sort but am giving back my profit when i lose a trade and double lot on the next trade of that trade set.
ANy help would much be appreciated- I am not here to argue with you guys, you are great mentors and i apologise for anything i have said out of line.

Mate, I’m not an expert here but I can explain u something.
Fisrt of all u must only trade very best CZ – find your sweet spots.
Trade set is not made for martingale but for recovery – that’s how I think of it. When u take SL on first brake u can take your money back and pssibly few pips extra on second. If second break fail, u can “take back” 1/2 ure loss on third break and 1/4 loss on eventually 4th break. Loss is part of the game, u must accept that.Theoretically it’s possible to make money on martingaling by doubling position on trade set. But first: u must be an expert on ssbo, u must trust your method blindly and have big balls, u must have large record(300-500 trades?), u must know your pair very well and most important u must have big equity behind you.
Roni26 u have bad expectation. You think, like a lot of people, that u can take someone shoes and go his path to succes. World dont work that way.
You must take your own shoes, made some steps on someone else old path, look at the signs and find our own way to succes.
It take much time, there will be blood and tears but you must try, it is possible.. or you can just sit and watch your life passing by like a lot of people do.Which are you?

just I want to tell that be accurate with these ways of trade. I lost a lot of money on trade on this strategy though I performed big optimization.Many publish good backtest here. but all this doesn’t make big sense because nobody tests strategy for a demo accounts at ordinary brokers. to make the correct test, it is necessary to buy history and to banish on it, and then to banish on the forward the period.
Also don’t use martingale. if you know mathematics, then understand that it anyway will lead to discharge of the deposit.
And in general I wouldn’t recommend to you to trade at Forex. Trade at the exchange. then you will understand the market.-

Blame the faulty mm, if you lost a lot of money. Loosing big is never strategy s fault, it s the traders lack of good mm.

I have a problem. My broker has changed its name. The latest EURUSD +. The EA can no longer compare the MagicNumber with the indicator. Can you change this in the indicator?
hi to all following this thread, for the back test results to bring real profit, we need proper history tick data. I am with Oanda, I looked everywhere on the internet to download their history tick data paid or free and couldn’t find it anywhere. The mt4 history data is unreliable as I figured from my forward test of this ssbo strategy. Is there any point of using this indicator or ea with the mt4 history alone?
Do you guys really have an edge or its just a lucky streak? I am not using martingale, I just trade 50 pips tp 40 pips sl as this is a little better than 1:1 R:R and I am looking for 60% or more individual trade win ratio. The ssbo indicator just gives me the direction, and obviously is optimized for the best profit, with these sl and tp I have.
From my observations, in 6 month of trading it brakes even as it supposed to, which to me, it means no real edge. I trade 17 pairs so lots of trades.
That made me think, either all its all an illusion as past data is tottaly different than the future data or – most likely- if you guys confirm you have an edge – my historical tick data is flawed hence my results are just randomned entries no real edge in them.

XUX99 I downloaded a few years back a mql5 version of the ssb0 indicator from your website, but cant make it work, I have mt5 with a demo account from a different broker. Any chance you have something for mt5, just for back testing purposes?
Thanks to xux99 and all you contributed to make this thread a success..I have been trying to autotrade the signals generated by SSBODynamic breakout box indicator with Ross but unfortunately the SSBODynamic Breakout Box v1.04 does not have Magic number..I had wanted Rossbot to trade the signals generated from SSBO indicator v1.o93 but I didnt..Why?because I entered the same settings of v1.04 into v.1093 and the results were different.My settings in V1.04 produced positive net pips whiles V1.093 produced negative pips though the settings of both indicators are the same. Now I am confused and dont know what to do..I would rather trade the the signals generated from V1.04 with Rossbot but V1.04 has no magic number..I have attached screenshots of both indies and net pips..I will be glad if someone can help me out here..Thank you.

SSBO is NOT about the indi; the indi should play a very small role in your over-all trading experience. Based on your pics and your comments here, it is obvious you don’t yet understand the key principles of my SSBO trading philosophy. Before you waste any more of your time or energy, or that of those around you, you need to visit my original teaching thread and start at the beginning and do precisely everything is says right there on the first page…:

SSBO is my creation. I maintained that teaching thread daily for almost 2-1/2 years. Believe me when I tell you, that everything you need to know about trading is already there waiting for you; as well as, every question you will ever feel like asking has already been answered in there too. Again, just go to the first page and do EVERYTHING is tells you to do, exactly as written. Good luck!

you don’t understand. this is a martingale. in this form it will lead to a drain or you will earn so little that it won’t make sense. I spent a few months for the detailed picking settings and mm. but the market was such that I nearly lost everything. I have a lot of experience and I am not a novice, which triggers the robot without thinking about mm

Just a quick note to offer thanks. I have returned to FX trading after some life changes necessitated a hiatus and have been trading this method again as my primary FX strategy for the last two years. During the most recent two years, I have lost a few individual trades but not lost a complete trade set until just last week. So, a heartfelt thanks for sharing the method and continuing to provide guidance.
