Hi XUX99.
Thanks for the advice again.
When I had the original EA installed, the arrows as well as the total pips would appear on the screen. Would this also now be broker dependent – sorry but any help would be greatly appreciated.

February 11, 2016 at 9:03 pm #11531Hi XUX99,
Rossbot appears to be working now, so thanks for all the effort you have put into this.
Regarding trading, is there any reason why the following trade would not have been taken.

February 11, 2016 at 11:35 pm #11536Hi Xux99 and Co,
I have admired your work and Squalous work since the SSBO thread started over at FF.
I am currently using Squalous indicator to trade the SSBO’s, maybe you can shed some light on an issue I am struggling with your indicator and also Squalous.
This is to do with the set TP levels, Eveytime i trade to change this the indicator goes back to the default TP and will not let me change the quick TP.
Is this a bug? am i using a very early version of the indicator?
Your thoughts would be most appreciated! (or anyone elses for that matter)
Thanks,
Roni

The QuickTP is the take profit of the first trade in a tradeset. If this first trade hits stop loss then the subsequent trades will have a different take profit that takes into account the loss of the previous trade. The dashboard may show this modified take profit but once a new tradeset starts the QuickTP is again used for its first trade.

Thank you for your prompt response!
So am I right in saying once the first tradeset quick tp hits the stop the next subsequent trade should be opened for twice that amount so to factor in recovery and profit on top? So for the first trade it would be 0.10 lot for example, do you recommend the second to be 0.20?
Sometimes when the trade signals to open much outside the box where the stop loss outweighs the tp, but I still keep SL at the opposite side of the box no matter how far outside the box the bars indicate me to enter.

Do you mind taking a look at the attached file and letting me know why the trades are not taking place, as highlighted in the image above.
Thanks BL.

There is no problem with your settings. Watch the “Experts” and “Journal” tabs for any error messages.

I don’t recommend any lot size increase to recover a loss. Try to optimize the settings and find which hours of the day have high percentage of profitable trades. Usually this occurs during the first hours of European and New York sessions.

Hi Xux99,
I have seen alot of charts on the FF thread with ‘Close trade 1, close trade 2, close trade 3, down the left hand side. This indicates that majority of the time the first trade of a trade set does not hit the profit target. So far I have backtested Squalous indicator on alot of currencies, but most of them take 3-4 tradesets before a 100% win is achieved and albeit by doubling lot size I suppose to make up for the previous loss.
What is your take on this Xux99?
Hope you’re having a lovely weekend.
February 14, 2016 at 6:39 pm #11556Also xux99, currencies when I backtest the indicator the trades show but the indicator doesnt spot live trades going forward with the same parameters. Currencies like usdjpy, eurjy etc.

This is a high risk strategy that will inevitably result in a sequence of lost trades and a margin call.

Hi Xux99,
I have now started using your indicator with the EMA i have able to narrow down the EURUSD currency to 4 breakout trades per set. I think forexhard uses the same strategy.
How would you implement the testing around different time periods like you say to find the highest percentage of breakout trades in one or two trades instead of applying the martingale strategy for 5 trades?
February 17, 2016 at 8:35 pm #11597Roni,
Do you mind sharing your settings as I would also like to start using this EA but my tests have not proven successful.

Hi Blaze,
Are you currently using the martingale strategy if your first breakout trade of a trade set fails?
I’m more than happy to offer you some guidance on finding the right setting as it has taken me days and nights to find the most optimal ones for one trade pair- even now I believe it could be bettered. Im looking for settings to have a minimum of 60% win ratio on the first trade set and then upwards of 65-70% on the second trade of a trade set.
Waiting on xux99’s input :)
Cheers,
Roni26
February 18, 2016 at 7:31 pm #11642Hi Roni,
No I am not using the martingale strategy as was under the impression that it had issued and hence the release of Rossbot that did not make use of it.
Regards BL.

Upload your backtest to myfxbook by adding a strategy. Then use only the profitable trading hours to optimize the settings. The image below shows a EURCAD backtest with default settings, notice that only certain trading hours are profitable.

Hi Xux99,
Thanks for your valuable input. I am yet to get the hang of using myfxbook for backtesting purposes.
I have found that Forexhard from the SBBO thread uses martingale to win back losses, this is probably the best way to trade with this system at the moment because the first trade of a tradeset winning is about 60% at the best.
February 19, 2016 at 6:46 pm #11667Hi Everybody, specially @xux99

I’ve been testing Rossbot for quite some time now, mainly in M15 EURUSD. I have some mixed results with some success but also with some bad surprises. Anyway I think this is an EA with great potential being based in a very straightforward and simple strategy so it deserves some attention…
Anyway, my question now is other.
I have the Rossbot EA in one M15 EURUSD chart and SSBO in another one, using the same settings where they have common ones.
Strangely, the results are very different. In fact, the CZ’s identified by each one are somewhat different and the opening of order (real opening for Rossbot, alerts of opening for SSBO) are normally very different also. Is this normal? Shouldn’t be more or less the same? SSBO have much better results than Rossbot…
Shouldn’t be easier to code the order opening and closure of orders in SSBO and convert this indicator to a fullblown EA eliminating Rossbot and having just one code base? (With an option to only make alerts for the people which only requires the indicator)
Thanks for xux99!!!

It also only uses bid prices whereas the EA uses bid or ask. These reasons should explain the different results. The indicator is mainly a visual and alerting aid, it can’t replace the EA and is not comparable to it. The indicator starts calculating the consolidation zones form the past bars but the EA starts from current bar and this may explain the difference in consolidation zones identification.
February 29, 2016 at 8:47 pm #11796Hi xux99 and others,
I have one questions which im sure others may also have.
Forexhard advocated that his breakout method be used at minimum R:R of 1:1, now the indicator indicates that some losses are more significant then the gains because if we set our parameters insinuating the trade to go in after waiting for a ‘candle close’ outside the box or even a 2-3 pip buffer which is needed to get the best settings, sometimes the bar will go 10pips or more oustide the box when the indicator tells you to trade so should you always risk 1:1 in this instance or just set a standard TP of 30pips regardless if the close outside the box is 5-10pips when the indicator tells you to enter.
Because this way you will be losing 50 pips and gaining 30pips (standard TP)
I hope this makes sense… Awaiting your answers :)
March 2, 2016 at 1:44 am #11812Downlod the latest version and set QuickTakeProfit to 1, QuickTakeProfitType to SLMultiplier and ModifyTakeProfit to false. Thus you can have R:R of 1:1 for all your trades.
March 2, 2016 at 11:17 pm #11844Hi xux99,
I hve downloaded the latest indicator as you advised which is the Rossbot but I am not able to see it on my charts?
I can see the SBBO dynamic indicator just fine so i know it is not the broker- any suggestions?
thanks
March 3, 2016 at 9:20 pm #11868You don’t have to see it on charts, just change the Rossbot settings.
